The first order we shipped came in this week.
Someone I do not know ordered a DROP 001 tee. They paid the full £69. The order was packed and it has been shipped.
I want to write down honestly what that felt like, because I think anyone building something from nothing will recognise it.
For months, the encouragement around this brand has been words. Views, likes, comments, people telling me they rate what I am doing. I appreciated all of it, and I also knew what it was. Words are easy to give. An order is a different kind of signal. Someone looked at the garment and the price, with no reason to do me any favours, and decided it was worth £69 of their own money. That is not politeness. That is a decision.
I am not going to dress this up as more than it is. One order does not prove this works at scale, and I am not going to pretend otherwise. The work in front of me looks exactly the same as it did last week. But there is a question that sits over you the whole time you are building alone, which is whether anyone out there actually wants the thing. You can argue with that question for months and never settle it yourself. It only takes one person to settle it for you, and this week one person did.
I will not be sharing who they are, where the order went, or anything else about it. That is their business, not content for the brand.
What I will say is thank you. If you are reading this, you know who you are. I packed it the way I would want to receive it, and I hope it feels right when you put it on.
